Our Classroom Learning Targets

In our classroom we always have our learning targets and have them listed and updated!

Learning targets list our objectives for specific subjects but in kid friendly terms.

For example : "We can write to inform."
"We Can determine a theme from a story."

They are posted for students to see and are stated before each lesson or during subjects. By posting these and letting students know their learning targets they are able to learn to set goals and know their goal when learning something :)

First Week is a Success!

One successful week completed my first week of student teaching! I really love each and every one of my students. I quickly learned all of my students names and started building positive relationships :)

My teacher has been teaching for 15 years and really has a great handle on her class and excellent behavioral management. This makes me even more excited to work with someone who is such an amazing teacher!

The week was a tad overwhelming at times trying to find my way around the school and learning teachers names but, with time I'm sure everything will fall into place and soon be second nature.

To start off getting used to the students and them getting used to me being in charge I take attendance, do the lunch duty and leveled students in reading on Thursday and Friday  I did running records which i have done at my previous school so that was a piece of cake for me! :)

Student Teaching Begins!

I start student teaching or in my case being an "Intern." I was hired to be an intern which means I jump into student teaching a little faster. I am filled with a mix of emotion, I am excited, nervous, eager, and scared of the unknown. It is always hard to start somewhere new and I am starting in January which is the middle of the year. I can not wait to meet all 28 of my 4th/5th grade students!

Go Jefferson Bears!!! :)
